A Murder in Time by Julie McElwain sounds like it will be a great mix of genres.
Kendra Donovan is an FBI agent. During a raid, she discovers a mole and is wounded. After recovering, Kendra decides to take revenge in her own hands. But… it doesn’t go according to plan (when does it ever go according to plan, anyways?).
Kendra runs through a stairwell and comes out of it in 1815. She’s trying to find her way back to the 21st Century… but then.
“After the body of a young girl is found on the extensive grounds of the county estate, she starts to feel there’s some purpose to her bizarre circumstances. Stripped of her twenty-first century tools, Kendra must use her wits alone in order to unmask a cunning madman,” according to the Goodreads page.
With an average rating of 3.7 on Goodreads, this seems like a great mix of genres and a fun read.
Outlander is one of my favorite series right now and that combines time travel with other genres, so I’m hopeful McElwain will find the same success with a mystery.
