For my Wednesday wanna-read this week, I’m venturing outside the true crime genre.
One True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reid is described as being a love story.
Emma has married Jesse, her high school sweetheart and love of her life. They have one year of wedded bliss. Then Jesse’s helicopter goes missing while on their anniversary trip.
Several years later, Emma is ready to move on. She meets Sam, and eventually gets engaged. She’s getting her second chance.
Jesse is found. He’s alive. Emma has a fiance and a husband.
One true love has a whole new meaning now. Or does it. How do you listen to your heart when it’s saying multiple things?
This book has received an average rating of 4.3 stars on Goodreads thus far — and it hasn’t even been released to the general public yet. (Scheduled release in early June.)
The plot sounds exciting, but I’m a bit apprehensive because of my experience reading another book with a similar plot. Watch for a Recent Read post on that book soon!
I would hope the strong ratings and the positive reviews I’ve seen mean One True Loves is going to be worth my time.
