The one that got away.
It’s a concept we’ve all heard of and/or experienced. We have listened to it lamented in song, read about it in books, watched it unfold on the silver screen.
But what if they came back?
That’s the premise behind Mhairi McFarlane’s You Had Me at Hello, my Wednesday wanna-read pick for the week.
From Goodreads: “It’s been a decade since they last spoke, but when Rachel bumps into Ben one rainy day, the years melt away.
From the moment they met they’d been a gang of two; partners in crime and the best of friends. But life has moved on. Ben is married. Rachel is definitely not. In fact, the men in her life make her want to take holy orders…
Yet in that split second, Rachel feels the old friendship return. And along with it, the broken heart she’s never been able to mend.”
This book has received some really positive reviews as well. With an average rating of more than 3.8 stars, I feel like it may be a strong work.
This is the type of story that takes a traditional concept and moves it outside its normal box.
I’m excited to eventually get to read this book.
