Hello!

Well, hello there and welcome. I’m Bethany and I’m a bibliophile (book lover.) This title of this blog is a play on the technical term for those of us who can’t seem to get our noses out of books. I hope you’ll stick around and read a while.

This blog is my little corner of the world where I can share my thoughts on books I read, wish I had time to read and the ones that I can’t seem to shake.

I’m excited to share my thoughts in this way. I have a written journal in which I write about the books I read after I’ve finished them, but I don’t get any feedback or suggestions with that. And I don’t get to recommend books that I really enjoy to people.

Ever since I was very young, I’ve been a voracious reader. My parents tell me I would pick up chapter books (even before I started school) and read the words on the page I could figure out. I had no clue what they meant, but by God, I was reading them.

I try and always have a book that I’m reading. More than one at a time is rare for me. I tend to get confused and bogged down. When I was younger and the books weren’t complex, yea, I could do several at once. But now, I just can’t manage it.

Books have provided me with a refuge and escape from the pain of everyday life for me at times. Being a reader is considered nerdy by many standards (wrongly IMHO), so I was an outcast for picking the book over the video game console through most of my school years. My parents encouraged me to read and I gladly took them up on it. Walking into a library or a bookstore was heaven for me–a treat to be savored and enjoyed. The smell of books still gets me.

I truly hope you will enjoy my insights and offer your own about the books I discuss on this blog. I love to write and I love to read, so some of these posts might get a tad lengthy. *You have now been warned.*
